東福寺
A large Rinzai Zen temple founded in 1236 and known for its autumn colours seen from the covered Tsutenkyo bridge. The Hojo is surrounded on all sides by gardens from the late 1930s.

Tip
Parts of the grounds are free; Tsutenkyo and the Hojo are separate paid areas. The bridge is extremely crowded at peak colour in mid to late November, so arrive at opening.
