Kyoto Station Building
京都駅ビル
The station building opened in 1997 for the 1200th anniversary of Kyoto's founding and was designed by architect Hara Hiroshi. It holds the JR Kyoto Isetan department store, the Porta underground mall, a tourist information centre and luggage storage.

Tip
A long run of escalators leads to a free open-air deck on the top floor, and the Skyway corridor runs 45 m above the central hall. Luggage storage and delivery counters are in the basement.
