Adashino Nenbutsu-ji
化野念仏寺
A Jodo sect temple at the top of the Saga-Toriimoto street, on ground used for burials since the Heian period. Its Sai no Kawara enclosure holds about 8,000 stone Buddhas and grave markers gathered from the surrounding area, and a path climbs through a bamboo grove behind it.
