Heian Shrine
平安神宮
Built in 1895 for the 1100th anniversary of the capital's founding, with main buildings modelled on a reduced-scale Heian period palace and a large torii gate on the approach. Behind the main hall is a paid garden with ponds and weeping cherry trees.
